Kalena, completely valid point. In last month's release we've added the ability to trigger an email/SMS/webhook. Pro tip: some folks are creating ad-hoc cancelled/on-hold resolution Work Orders with stricter SOPs & automatic assignments to Sales Rep/PM/etc (which triggers the Notification email as a result = win-win!)
