Disallow Renaming Work Orders to Preserve Data Integrity
Austen Anderson
If one of our employees creates a "Solar Installation" work order, it causes major issues if that employee can then arbitrarily change the name of the work order to “Reroof.”
Now we’re left wondering why this project isn’t showing up in our smart view of all reroof jobs, completely unaware of the fact that the work order is not a "Reroof" work order at all, but was instead originally created as a "Solar Installation" work order and was repurposed.
If repurposing a work order doesn't get reflected in our filters or analytics, then we shouldn't be able to repurpose work orders at all.
This is ultimately a major data integrity issue.

Sounds like the employee should use a WO that is not in the WorkFlow. We created a template for a manual WO for situations like these.

Austin, I see your frustration. However, my design team must rename our work orders all the time due to new versions of a design. I think better training may address this issue.
